About Us
Austin-based Manchester Texas Financial Group, LLC manages all Texas- based holdings in commercial real estate and hotel development for Manchester Financial Group, a San Diego-based hotel and commercial property development firm. Manchester Texas Financial Group, or MTFG, is responsible for the development of the Fairmont Austin convention center hotel in downtown Austin, slated to open in June of 2017.
MTFG was drawn to the Austin market thanks, in part, to how much of the urban landscape reminded the firm of its roots in San Diego. In many ways, underdeveloped parts of downtown remind the MTFG’s President, Douglas W. Manchester, of the hometown of his childhood. This includes Austin’s convention center, which could be greatly bolstered by additional capacity. It’s an industry MTFG and its parent company knows well.
Founded in 1970, Manchester Financial Group has developed more than $3 billion in assets in 11 states, employing approximately 3,000 people nationally. The company specializes in and focuses on hotel and commercial property development. Manchester Financial Group and its subsidiaries have been instrumental in developing downtown San Diego's waterfront, paving the way for the city of San Diego's burgeoning convention industry, while also founding two banks and establishing an extensive and diverse investment portfolio. The company's projects include the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina and downtown San Diego's First National Bank building, The Manchester Business and Research Park, Manchester Executive Centre and the Manchester Financial Building. Manchester Financial Group's most talked about premier resort and spa, The Grand Del Mar, combines a luxury hotel with palatial residential villas.
